DVP Becomes InHand Electronics Inc
Rockville, MD (JANUARY 15, 2001) -
DVP, Inc. today officially announced its company name change to InHand
Electronics, Inc. to best reflect the company's evolution into a leader
in the development of sophisticated, industrial-strength handheld
device technology. The company's mission remains to develop
cutting-edge handheld technologies such as those found in the
award-winning OmniMeter test & measurement handheld and Elf
single-board computer. These products have become the platform for many
revolutionary devices in manufacturing, biomedical, and military
markets.
InHand also announced that it has initiated its capital
raising efforts and that it has successfully completed an "angel" round
of financing. "InHand is ideally positioned to capitalize on the
burgeoning handheld device market," said Carlos Valeiras, Vice
President of Advantor Capital Company, an early-stage venture capital
firm and one of InHand's initial investors. "Entire industries are
experiencing a paradigm shift due to mobile and wireless computing.
InHand's solutions will allow the company and its OEM customers to ride
the wave of handheld technology in diverse industries such as test
& measurement, biomedical and military."
Andrew
Girson, the new CEO of InHand said, "The company will continue its
intense focus on the hot handheld market for OEMs and continue
supporting past product developments. Our mission always has been to
help handheld device developers speed up their product lifecycle with
options ranging from off-the-shelf starter kits for development to
consulting with our expert staff. The name change only affirms our
commitment to meet the development requirements of industrial-strength
handheld device makers in a wide variety of markets."
InHand's
intellectual property, single-board computers, prototype handhelds, and
data acquisition peripheral support bridge the gap for developers of
all types of handheld devices. InHand Electronics will continue
development and marketing of all of DVP's handheld platform products,
including the OmniMeter and Elf.
