Hardened computer

A hardened computer platform implies a kind of ruggedized computer for hostile environment in terms of wetness, radiation and vibration. It has applications in the military tactical and industry outdoor/space environments. One European railway standard in particular, the EN50155, "Railway Applications—Electronic Equipment Used On Rolling Stock", provides an example of a tough non-military specification. It extends operating temperature range (-25/+70 degrees C), resistance to humidity, shocks, vibrations, radiation - encountered in vehicle or airborne installations.
