Job Description: InHand Electronics is seeking an energetic, highly-motivated electrical engineer for a challenging and rewarding position designing electronic boards for handheld and wireless devices. The successful candidate will assist with various R&D and customer projects. He/she will primarily perform assembly and repair of handheld electronics products developed and maintained by InHand Electronics.  The individual will be responsible for hands on electronics assembly at the PCB and system level. The ability to troubleshoot assembly and functional problems is a must.  He/she will work closely with other technicians and engineers for embedded systems in order to assist them with electronic system development from assembly drawings and assembly procedures. This individual will assist in maintaining inventory and occasionally ordering parts. 

Primary Duties & Responsibility include: 
  • Assemble prototype and first run production handheld products
  • Document assembly instructions
  • Work with mechanical engineers and hardware engineers to refine assembly and ensure the product is designed for manufacturing
  • Document/revise assembly instruction and train additional personnel on product assembly
  • Assist electronics technician with basic soldering as required
  • Maintain mechanical parts and product inventory
  • Documentation and data tracking of required information and processes
  • Other duties as required.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years relevant professional work experience in a similar position.
  • Must be skilled at fine mechanical assembly
  • Must be able to perform basic soldering tasks
  • Must be detail oriented and well organized
  • Must work well in a team environment 
  • Must have proficient verbal and written communication skills 
  • Should be computer proficient with MS DOS, Windows 2000/XP OS
  • Should be proficient with MS Word, Excel
  • Experience with Solidworks, ProE, or Autocad a plus
  • Knowledge of designing for IP67, MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F, and MIL-HDBK-217 analysis a plus
  • Some degree of independence and self-starter qualities are sought, although it is expected that there will be on-the-job learning as well.
  • Experience in final inspection and quality a plus
  • Great communication skills; team player
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Military experience a plus
